Dragon fruit is popular and is favored fruit not only domestically but also internationally due to its delicious taste, eye-catching color, and also contains many nutrients that are very good for health. In addition, exporting dragon fruit helps improve the economy for farmers.
However, in the past 3 years, dragon fruit export output has continuously decreased because Vietnam is being affected by COVID-19 and the global economic recession. Specifically, according to PhapLuat newspaper, in the first quarter of 2023, dragon fruit export output was 1,150 tons with an export turnover of 1.8 million USD, reaching 20.93% of the 2023 plan, down 13.17% over the same period last year.

According to predictions by the World Bank (WB), Vietnam's economy will recover and grow by 5.5% by 2024. Furthermore, the Chinese market reopening to imports will help export dragon fruit output recover and prosper by the end of 2023, and increase by 5-10% over the same period this year.
Although the export market is facing many difficulties, Ant Farm's export dragon fruit output is still exported to domestic and foreign markets every day. Specifically, export output in 2022 reached more than 12 million kilos, and estimated that in 2023 it will reach more than 13 million kilos.
Based on the above data, farmers shouldn't massively change direction but must first promote production towards quality and safety, to ensure strict standards when exporting. This helps stabilize dragon fruit export output while also bringing income to farmers.
