Avocados are a favorite of the produce section. Each avocado weighs 400-500g, with an oblong shape, length of 20 - 30cm, thin skin, glossy green color, small seed, thick yellow flesh, rich and velvety texture, and no fibers.
Avocado contains a large amount of fiber, vitamins A, C, E, B2, B5, B6, iron, potassium, etc. that help prevent aging, achieve beautiful skin, prevent cataracts, and support weight loss. Especially, it helps babies enhance physical strength.
To find out if your avocado is ripe, gently squeeze it and observe the color and texture of its skin. If your avocado yields under gentle pressure and has dark green to black skin with a bumpy texture, your avocado is ripe.
For ripe avocados, place them in your refrigerator for 2-3 days to keep them fresh.
You can leave the fruit at room temperature, or place in direct sunlight to speed ripening.
You can also place the avocado sealed in a paper bag with a banana; the ethylene gases in the banana will speed ripening. When ripe, avocados will feel slightly soft when squeezed.
If you’ve already cut into your avocado, you can use lemon juice or water to keep your avocado fresh.
